Perennial. Grows to about 60 cm high. Found in the wild in damp woods and meadows. Narrow, finely-toothed leaves and clusters of small white flowers from July to September. Also known as Adder�s Tongue and Hardhead.
The root was used to make a person sneeze. Also used as a remedy for toothache because it promotes the flow of saliva.
