Clump-forming perennial with upright square stems and clusters of purple flowers. Height 4 - 6 ft. Traditional cottage garden plant. Butterfly plant.
Looks excellent planted in masses or in a line woven through other plants because the tall branching stems will poke up amongst the other plants. He more you cut it back the more shrub-like it will become.
Prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade. Self-seeds well.
