CORN CHAMOMILE (anthemis arvensis)

Buy wildflowers, herbs, cottage garden plants, seeds and native hedging from our online shop

Annual. Frondy leaves and many daisy flowers from May to August. Height 12 18 ins (30 45 cm). Plant found in meadows, wasteland and arable land.

Plant can be boiled to obtain a bright yellow dye. Mice dont like the plant.

Plant in full sun in poor, dry soil. Deadhead regularly otherwise you will get only one flush of flowers. Pruning hard after flowering and not allowing plant to set seed can sometimes prolong the plant for another year.

Sow directly where to flower, in April. Alternatively sprinkle a few seeds per 3 inch pot of compost and leave them to germinate and grow until ready to plant out in late spring/early summer.
